TERON Dharamsing

Dharamsing Teron is an independent indigenous research activist from the Karbi community in the tribal region of Karbi Anglong in central Assam. At the forefront of a long struggle for autonomy since 1986, he has carried the political, cultural and literary aspirations of the Karbi people.
He has been a relentless pioneer in documenting and analysing endangered Karbi folklore and has published the “Karbi Studies” series in collaboration with young Karbi researchers, writers and translators.
He is the founding Director of the “Centre for Karbi Studies”, a research organization that aims at fostering indigenous research initiatives in the “most under-researched areas.”
He lives in Rongmili, Diphu and can be contacted at : dstlangne.ka@gmail.com
